In November 2023, feeling the stress, I needed a break. Weighing my options, I contemplated heading down South to Batangas or staying closer up North in Subic. That’s when I decided on ACEA Subic Beach Resort. Just a relaxed two-hour drive via NLEX and SCTEX, it’s a quick escape. I specifically picked a weekday stay to avoid the usual hustle and bustle.
As I headed to ACEA, the journey itself became a peaceful experience. The scenic route offered lovely views, and my appreciation for nature found fulfillment. Despite the drive’s length, the natural beauty around created a calming vibe. It made the journey almost as refreshing as the destination.
Checking In Early and Enjoying ACEA Subic Beach Resort
We arrived a bit early and, pleasantly, the reception allowed us to check in sooner. Stepping into the room, a fresh and clean scent welcomed us. The bed looked inviting, and the balcony offered ample space to enjoy my coffee while watching the sunset or sunrise the next day.
Keen on a beach swim around 3:00 PM, we were disappointed to find the shore too rocky. Regretfully, I hadn’t packed aqua shoes, assuming ACEA’s beach would be smoother.
Adapting, we shifted to the pool. Thankfully, it was well-maintained, lacking the overpowering smell of chlorine. As it was a weekday, the pool was pleasantly less crowded, allowing us to relish the experience almost privately. (I snapped the photo below the next day. Couldn’t capture a good shot at night.)
There’s one thing that really caught my attention. We stayed at the pool for a long time, and it was almost sunset. They have the best sunset view! the colors are magnificent, and it’s just breathtaking.
Savoring Flavors at ACEA’s Salt Restaurant
We considered dining at SBMA, but fatigue guided us to the comfort of ACEA Subic Beach Resort’s Salt Restaurant. To be honest, I cannot remember how the taste was, as I didn’t really eat much during those days – I simply wasn’t in the mood.
Exploring ACEA Subic Beach Resort Salt Restaurant Menu
For those eager to explore the tempting options available at ACEA Subic Beach Resort, here’s a glimpse into Salt Restaurant’s menu. Take a virtual stroll through the menu pictures to gain insights into the enticing choices. Each page unfolds a range of flavors, and this preview aims to guide your appetite on a delightful journey.
ACEA Subic Beach Resort Breakfast Buffet
As you enter the dining area, the inviting smell of fresh coffee greets you, a perfect way to start your day. Alongside the coffee, you’ll find a variety of breakfast options waiting for you.
To satisfy your morning hunger, there’s a range of Filipino specialties, like Puto, a soft and subtly sweet rice cake. It’s a local favorite that adds something special to the breakfast table.
For those wanting a heartier breakfast, there’s plenty of savory dishes available. Enjoy some scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, Vigan sausages, tapa, tocino, chicken with salted egg, and more! And don’t forget the hot pancakes, ready to be topped with your favorite syrup or fruit topping.
Surprising Encounters at Check-Out
As the clock struck 12 for check-out, we were eager to head out rather than wait until lunchtime. Our destination? Royal Duty Free at SBMA. But as I packed my belongings, I was met with an unexpected sight: a massive airplane maneuvering right beside ACEA! 😍
It was a moment of disbelief – I hadn’t realized ACEA was situated so close to Clark Airport! This unexpected encounter brought a rush of excitement, reminiscent of childhood wonder. Oh, the joys of discovering something new in unexpected places!
Reflecting on My Experience
Will I Return?
To be honest, it was a nice experience, but no, 😕 I won’t be returning. Primarily because I’m more of a beach person, and unfortunately, I wasn’t able to fully enjoy the beach during my stay due to the rocky terrain and the unusually hot water.
These factors made it challenging to relax and enjoy the shoreline as I had hoped. I’ve had much better experiences at other resorts where the beach was smoother and the water temperature more comfortable. However, I might consider returning if someone treats me to it. But as for paying for it myself, I don’t think I’d be willing to shell out this much again! 🤣
Helpful Tip for Future Visitors
If you’re planning to visit ACEA Subic Beach Resort, make sure to bring aqua shoes. Trust me, I learned the hard way!

June 5, 2024 Update: All Hands Beach Waters vs. ACEA
Yesterday, June 5, 2024 – a rainy Wednesday morning, I got invited to All Hands Beach by a (🤪 crazy ) friend with a spontaneous need of vitamin sea. Let me make it crystal clear – I’m not comparing ACEA and All Hands Beach hotels because they belong to different levels in terms of rating and target market.
While ACEA’s hotel is undoubtedly gorgeous, All Hands Beach accommodation is more of a three-star experience. However, when it comes to the water, All Hands Beach wins by a mile. ACEA’s beach water is, to put it frankly, rocky and unpleasant. Also, these two beaches are just few minutes away from each other.
Comparing the beach waters and rocks between All Hands Beach and ACEA, it’s like night and day.
Some folks might not care about rocks on the shore, but for me, it’s a big deal. All Hands Beach had none of that hassle, which is super important for folks like us who just want smooth sand underfoot.
While ACEA’s hotel might be fancier, All Hands Beach goes the extra mile to keep their water clean. It made chilling by the water a breeze, no need for those pesky aqua shoes.
I’m definitely going back to All Hands Beach soon to really soak it all in. Yesterday’s visit was short, about three hours or so, and the weather wasn’t the best—it rained a bit. But hey, even with the rain, it was still a blast.
Keep an eye out for more beach updates soon!
