Because of the popularity of pure promotion, a lot of content creators have lost focus when it comes to substance. It’s not that their posts aren’t saying anything – it’s just that whatever they offer for an audience to consume doesn’t really leave them with anything of value.
When creators post, they need to think beyond just being everywhere. If you’re too in-your-face for a socmed (social media) consumer, you may find people just swiping past your content instead of engaging with it and sharing it. How do you plan your posts, and what should you consider when you want to increase awareness about your blog or feed? Here are my simple tips for increasing engagement!
It’s Still A Quality Over Quantity Issue
Having a high budget for a lot of social media posts won’t get your message across if the posts aren’t value-adding to your audience. You need to give your content some serious thought and consider if you’re posting just to saturate feeds, or if you’re sharing something people will actually stop and think about.
Remember that spamming people’s feeds can actually backfire. If they feel like they’re seeing a bunch of your posts and they’re not getting anything out of it, they may even block your account. Give the frequent posting a rest and focus on generating thoughtful content. Sometimes It’s Better Not To Post If You’re Not Sure What To Say
Messaging is the key to social media planning. If you don’t have a vision for what your branding is, and the kind of content you want to be associated with, you can confuse or alienate your audience. You may think, “At least if I post something, people know I’m on the internet!”
Wrong. In a day and age where anyone can consume all the content they want, saturating feeds can make you look chaotic and unfocused. Until you’re confident you can put together quality content with fun or useful information, give the posting a rest.

The average person will take just over half a minute to skim through articles, and with the sheer availability of posts and articles alike, what’s going to make you stand out? Without a solid plan for your content and target audience, your posts may fall flat.
Find the right audience by planning the correct hashtags – pick specific ones that can narrow your niche without excluding too many that may have similar interests.
Think about how your content can be connected to more interesting and deeper discussions which you can discuss in future posts, so you can solidify your brand and create stronger associations with certain qualities.
When in Doubt, Use A Social Media Content Planner
Are you a lifestyle writer? A cooking or fitness poster? Do you want to talk about body positivity? Who are you addressing? These are questions that you should be able to list and answer in your planner – it will go a long way in making your content successful!

Printing Instructions
Must be printed on an A5 sized paper. I do not give consultations related to the printing process and the properties of your printer. Also, paper quality is also important. For best results, use regular to heavy (90-250 gsm) white card stock instead of a plain paper.
