Harsh Truth

The wrong person won't be your anchor in the storm; they'll drag you to the depths. It's time to swim to the surface.

5 Obvious Signs Someone is About to Waste Your Time · Kat&Beyond

Time Killer – Know someone who exists just to waste your time or somebody who is not worth your time? We have all met these kinds of people. You know, the ones who never take you seriously despite your best efforts. In fact, they might even think that you’re wasting their time.

Here are some telltale signs someone is about to make you throw away your time. Learn them now so you can spot these red flags the next time.

They don’t actually listen to what you are saying

When you are engaging in conversation with a person like this, they’ll try to pretend they’re listening. They might keep eye contact, nod their head occasionally, and throw in an “mhm” or “I see” here and there.

However, if you pay close attention, you’ll notice them checking their watch or catch them off-guard with a sudden question. Do yourself a favor and take yourself out of this situation and stay away from this type of time killer.

They make false promises

False promises can come in many shapes and forms. They could offer to refer you to a friend or colleague of theirs, but they never do. You might invite them to lunch or coffee but they never seem to follow through. Generally, if they do not agree to a specific date and time, you can automatically assume that they do not plan on putting their words into action. This obviously waste your time waiting for feedback and such.

They try to get free advice or services from you

If you are a professional, such as a doctor or lawyer, or have skills like graphic design, coding, video editing, or an online shop owner and they haggle too much, etc., chances are that people will try to take advantage of you.  It’s not really a wasted effort but if they attempt to ask for favors and get these services for free or for way less, even if you should be reasonably compensated.

Time Killer! Spot them before its too late.

These people are freeloaders and are definitely not worth your time. They ask favors before you even get to know each other.

These types of people are very similar to those in the last bullet point. They will also try to use you for favors. The worst part is that, usually, they will ask even if you do not know each other very well. While they are more direct and straight to the point, they are much more shameless and rude.

They always say “next time”

If every time you talk to make plans or collaborate and they say “next time,” you just know there will never be a next time. People who make this phrase a regular part of their vocabulary are procrastinators, time-wasters, and are too chicken to be honest with you.

Time Killer! Don’t Waste Your Time. Spot them Right Away

It’s not always easy to spot these kinds of people. I myself had to be a victim several times before i finally learned how to classify a particular person as a “toxic person and someone who will just completely waste my time”.  Have you encountered such kind of person? do share! 😊
