Excited gamers (like me) awaited the release of the Asus ROG Rapture GT-AX6000. This Wi-Fi router promised consistent, speedy output for boosting gaming performance. After all, who thinks they can hit their peak gaming performance with a slow Wi-Fi connection? Even if you have a top-notch custom PC and the reflexes of a pro, you also need a reliable Wi-Fi connection.
I was skeptical of how much a router could boost performance, so I decided to install the Asus ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 and give it a try. Find out in my review if this is the 2022 gaming router you should install, or if it deserves a hard pass.
Manage And Customize This 2022 Gaming Router With Ease
I was immediately impressed by how easy it was to set up the ROG Rapture GT-AX6000. Manage this router with the same intuitive mobile app and console that ROG also uses for their ROG Strix GS-AX5400 router. Check out the top of the app’s home screen to immediately see the IP address, both Wi-Fi bands’ SSIDs, and your network name.
Need to quickly assign bandwidth priority for different activities? No problem! Click on the game controller button, because this will take you to a window where you can assign bandwidth priority for things like internet surfing, gaming, and file transfers.
The app features a status circle for managing the router’s funky RBG lighting, a real-time chart of your network traffic, as well as memory usage. Toggle through the screens using the arrows – easy as pie! Even a non-pro gamer like me enjoyed the easy customization and bandwidth management of this router.
Powerful Speed Beats Other Top Routers
Talk about customization until you’re blue in the face, but there’s really one big pro that sets this router apart: its incredible speed. The Rapture GT-AX6000 was up and running in mere minutes using the mobile app.
I set up the network quickly, as well as performed network optimization. I was quickly impressed by the resulting speeds of the Rapture GT-AX6000. For devices in the same room, it delivered lightning-fast speed at 368 mbps. Devices that were farther in my house also got a good speed of 145 mbps.
The fast file transfer speed pleased me as well, with the Rapture GT-AX6000 boasting a write speed of 72 mbps. I transferred a whole folder full of videos, music, and photos to a USB drive in a snap. This is a lifesaver when you’re working against the clock.
The Best Choice For Hardcore Gamers
The Rapture GT-AX6000 comes at a hefty price tag. However, you get unbelievable speed in return. There are cheaper routers, but they lack the powerful maximum output of this Asus router. People who don’t need top speeds can stick to their budget and get a slower model.
However, if you take your gaming seriously, I strongly recommend that you spring for the Asus ROG Rapture GT-AX6000 router. Its powerful processor and incredible, consistent performance will give you the edge you need.
