WordPress Image Optimization with Imagify · Kat&Beyond

Want to increase visitor numbers to your site? One way to get more clicks and visitors is to have webpages that load quickly. The slower a page is, the more likely a visitor is to give up – then never come back!

Speed also affects your site’s ranking on search engines. This is because search engines factor in website speed when computing rankings. So how do you make your pages load faster?

I decided to cast my net far and wide for plugins that would make my WordPress site load quickly. Imagify, a popular WordPress image optimization plugin, was recommended to me by so many people. Here’s what it did to my WordPress, and what I really think about it after trying it out!

Imagify Is Used For WordPress Image Optimization

Imagify compresses images of different file types. Compress JPGs, GIFs, and PNGs using this plugin, so you can retain image quality while shrinking file size. This is important because image quality often goes down when a file is smaller.

The best part is that it does it directly, so there’s no need to open a separate program and save the optimized files separately. The plugin can optimize photos one at a time, but it can also compress multiple images using the Bulk Optimizer with just one click!

There’s also an option to generate WebP versions of images that are optimized by the Imagify plugin. This creates a full-sized optimized image and WebP image, as well as optimized and WebP thumbnails. WebP is a format that Google highly recommends when it comes to Core Web Vitals. By using this format instead, you boost the ranking of your site for search results!

My Verdict: It May Be Just The Thing To Boost Your Page

Installing the Imagify plugin was fairly straightforward. Right away, there was a noticeable difference in the loading time of my pages.

One of my bigger frustrations was having to reduce image sizes severely just to keep my site from lagging so much. But because of this plugin, I was able to upload many high-res pictures that would keep my visitors glued to my blog entries. These photos loaded very quickly, so I was able to scroll and enjoy detailed images with very little waiting time.

While the free version allowed me to do WebP conversion and compress up to 20MB of images for free every month, my site is very image-heavy. Convinced, I ended up springing for a paid plan. It really helped me trim down my page and make it look much more professional.

Try It To Speed Up Your WordPress Loading!

If you’re frustrated at your site’s loading speeds or wondering how to attract more site visitors, it’s worth it to give Imagify a go. Try the free version first for a taste of its features, then pick from any of its different pricing plans depending on your budget. Over time, you may notice more unique clicks, as well as a higher search engine ranking. SEO ranking is crucial to boosting your site, so enable this plugin and start compressing images!
